Welcome to the African Heritage Culture Club. We are organized to provide the residents of Solivita with an African American cultural and social experience while reaching out to our community through a series of year round events. For more information, fill out the contact form at the end of the page in the "About Us" section.
MLK Celebration
This year, Pastor Alan Harris of Beulah Baptist Institutional Church delivered the MLK speech. His theme was "Has the Dream Been Fulfilled?". Pastor Harris is out of Tampa and is a young and eloquent speaker. After this inspiring talk, the AHCC hosted the first Unity Day Walk through Solivita. Mark your calendar for next year's MLK day on January 20 2025
Kwanzaa
The AHCC Kwanzaa celebration provides us with enlightenment and entertainment from our homeland. Kwanzaa is held in December of each year. The AHCC celebration will be held on December 26. Habari Gani!
The Holiday Gala

The club was entertained by The AHCC Men Who Sing, who delivered some excellent holiday cheer. Led by Sheryl Shell, this was one of the highlights of the evening. Our 2023 Holiday Gala will be held on December 21

February is Black History Month
Black History Month is an annual observance originating in the United States, where it is also known as African-American History Month.

Prepare to be enlightened while being entertained as the AHCC brings back one of it's best shows for Black History Month - The Harlem Rennaissance!
Annual Golf Outing

The AHCC membership teed it up for our annual golf outing in the month of May. This is a nine-hole event with a brunch served after play. Whether you are a beginner or a seasoned player, this event is fun for the entire club! This year we included the African Heritage Club Education Fund, Inc. to the event and included some of our scholars in the activities.

The White Dance

A time to kick up our heels and enjoy the pot-luck meals, a great DJ spinning the tracks of our time and awesome fellowship. The "Dancing Men of AHCC" put on a great show for the members. To view the entire video, follow this link - (3) Facebook
Outreach Committee

Over the years, the AHCC has provided food, funds and support to neighboring institutions. Our most recent endeavor brought together Solivita residents to compete in our version of the Olympics

A component of this event is to raise funds for the Boys & Girls Club of Polk County. AHCC President Keith Eaton presented Boys & Girls Club President Steve Giordano with a check for over 7,000.00
Juneteenth

Also known as Freedom Day, Jubilee Day, Cel-Liberation Day or the Black Fourth of July, is the national holiday that commemorates June 19,1865. On this day, after almost two and half years since the implementation of the Emancipation Proclamation, enslaved African Americans were informed of their liberation from the slavery present in the former Confederate States of America. The AHCC celebrates this day each year at our monthly meeting
